5.LTT IN ITALIA

1. Welcome from the headmaster: Dott.sa Franca Pia Tarantino welcomes all the partecipants of the project and she wishes them a fruitful work.

2. Workshop on the integration of pupils with special need in classes (2^A, 2^B, 2^C): teachers and researchers are divided into 3 group in order to observe how italian inclusive
methodologies are applied in our school.

4. Presentation of our students with disabilities (of the classes involved in the project) and of the students that, after, had partecipated to the project with their classmates, the peer tutors.

5. Debriefing: all partecipants met togheter and they shared own thought about the previous activities and they asked their question about our methodologies and strategies.

6. Each country showed own presentation about coding implementation

7. Meeting with the mayor at city hall: the mayor welcomes to all partecipants of the project and he wishes to everybody to spend a pleasant time in Cerignola. Italian team presented the highlights of High Five project. After that, the mayor deals dealt with the incoming projects related to the schools of the city. In addition, he congrats to everyone for the work about the project and in generally, because he feels the importance of this job: teachers build our future, in fact students are the citizen of tomorrow.

8. Cultural visit of the town.

29th novembre (2° day of activities)
1. Visit to the secondary school of art: workshop in pottery laboratory.
- Modeling with a founding mold
- Modeling with a mold of hard clay
- Modeling with turning machine (lathe)
- Colombine modeling
Partecipants: 5 students with with different level of disabilities and 5 classemates as peer tutors.

2. Ceramic workshop at school about slab modeling: it was showed and explained all the tools and it was presented how we usually made the activities in the laboratory. Thus, it was illustrated how to operate for creating some artifacts. It was showed activities to be easily reproduced by each country.

3. Examples of staining on baked and raw clay objects. Trought these activities it was illustrated how to decorated clay with glazes for ceramic (after clay was baked).

30th november (3° day of activities)
It was visited:

1. Castel del Monte: cultural visit of the castle with travel guide in english Castel del Monte is a monumental building of XIII century, a fortress that rises in the heart of Murgie, in the National Park of Alta Murgia, distant 16 km to Andria, one of the most visited places of Apulia. The castle, having an octagonal form, is a crown of stone. The emperor Federico II di Svevia had it build. It is an unique masterpiece, a monument rich in symbols, starting from the number eight, that ecurring everywhere into this structure.

3. Cultural visit to Castle of Trani. The Trani Castle is one of the best example of fortifications that Federico II had it build. It rises up near the Cathedral of Trani, near the seaside, at the center of a roadstead that is helpful for protecting the city. It had a strategical position in the city and also its towers were useful to control the town.

01th december (4° day of activities)
1. Ceramic workshop at school about slab modeling.
• Sketch with watercolour technique. This activity is preliminary to the following ceramic work.
The teacher gave each a square sheet and information about the work and invited them to observe all the steps for the realization that she herself carried out.
• Realization of a tile with relief depicting the Cathedral, obtained with the technique of modelling on slab.

2. Ceramic workshop at school about slab modeling
• Preparation of engobe achieved from the mixture of powder of white dried clay
• Decoration of the tie using engobe that created a contrast effect with red clay after the baking
• Creation of a little bowl (a candy boxes), with slab modeling

Dinner
Dinner with the headmaster of the Istitute “Carducci-Paolillo”: certificates of attendance at “5th LTTA-Cerignola, Italy” were awarded.
